GLOBAL TV GLOBAL TV will be on location at the Penticton Speedway to film a segment on the Okanagan Racing Experience. Many morning news personalities will try their hand at driving the NASCAR style racecars as well a "RIDE WITH THE PROS" where they will get the opportunity to ride as a passenger with instructor and race car driver Mike Sproule. Stay tuned for the dates that it airs. KATANA RACING SERIES gets underway in late April. Watch for Mike Sproule and the # 8 Okanagan Racing Experience Monte Carlo at tracks throughout British Columbia this summer. www.katanasportsmantour.com NEW CAR We have added yet another car to the fleet. An ex NASCAR tour car is undergoing the final testing and finishing and will be ready for the Global shoot in April. This car is complete with the second seat for passengers to "RIDE WITH PROS" We now have 2 cars with passenger seats to allow a race simulation for our passengers. Wine Country Music Fest 2008 Country recording artists Johnny Reid, Jessie Farrell, and Casey Clarke of CMT will be on location at the Penticton Speedway to film a episode of the "CHEVY CROSS CANADA COUNTDOWN" followed by a huge outdoor concert. We are expecting Johnny, Jessie, Casey and many other country celebrities to hop behind the wheel of one of the Okanagan Racing Experience cars. Stay tuned for pictures and times it will be aired. | June 2007 Another great day of racing on June 16th The weather held out for all 12 drivers to try there hand at racecar driving. - Most improved Driver Jock Hawkey - Mike's Pick for best overall driver Ted Lloyd - Most consistent Driver Bryan Hawkey Mike Lahane not only drove the racecar well but ended up "Father of the day" when he purchased a " Ride with the Pros" package for his whole family. Well Done All Drivers!!!! |

| The May 12 2007 race day was a full house. Many competitors from Vancouver and the North Okanagan saw great weather and fast laps. Our new Ride with the Pros program was a great success as 7 people trusted Mike enough to take them around the speedway at nears race speed. "I think I enjoyed seeing the expressions on peoples face more than I enjoy racing itself it was priceless" said Sproule. Tara King was our most improved competitor for the weekend shaving nearly 8 seconds a lap off her time. She had so much fun she stayed on for the second day with fellow competitor Brock Richardson to race with Mike in a one on one battle. Stay tuned to NASCAR for there names to show up.!! Well done to all the May Competitors "GREAT DRIVING" Neil Jamieson a graduate of the Okanagan Racing Experience in 2006, competed in his first race on May 19 2007 in the street stock division at Penticton Speedway. He kept out of accidents and finished the main event with a very respectable finish. "WELL DONE NEIL" |

| We had an great 1st year running the Okanagan Racing Experience. The interest in our racing program was overwhelming to me, and I had alot of fun sharing the sport I love with so many people. We people from all walks of life at our racing experience this season, from 2 sisters to a mother and son, from Ministers to Software designers people from age 16 to age 70 and everyone in-between. It didn't seem to matter where they came from their background or even how fast they could drive a race car, the smiles told the story. 2006 Notables:
NEW FOR 2007 We are in the process of adding a passenger seat to one of the cars for those of you who would rather have someone else drive.( better than any rollercoaster) Theme days: i.e.( RCMP Challenges, Media Challenges, Corporate Challenges & Ladies day ) are just a few ideas. | We had another successful day at The Okanagan Racing Experience on June 25. It was a hot one 38 degrees. The track got a little slippery at the end of the day and we had a few spin outs. Natalie Rella was looking awesome and then went in a little hard on turn 4 and hit the wall and sent a garbage can flying. Nobody was hurt (except the car of course), but nothing major. Our Fastest lap of the day was a 15.40 and the award went to Grant Heibert. Our most improved driver of the day was James Mccadam. He was awarded this due to the incredible consistency of his laps. He was turning 15.56 to 15.80 for all of his final 20 laps. Good job guys!!! Mike Roberts from CHBC News will be at the track with us on Wednesday, June 28 to do a segment for Roberts on the Road. Mike will be having an onboard camera with him while he drives the car, it should be cool to see. Stay tuned to the site for the date and time in which it will air. |
